TheSan Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health invites qualified professionals to apply for the position of LicensedClinical Therapists II. Licensed Clinical Therapists II are lead workers who direct a small clinical staff. Typical duties consist of providing clinical and administrative consultation to their staff; screening prospective clients for appropriateness of program services; intervening in crisis situations; auditing and monitoring charts; utilization review; payment authorization; and participating in providing rehabilitative mental health/substance abuse services in clinic, institutional, field, and community settings to clients with severe mental, emotional, and substance abuse disorders.

The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is responsible for providing mental health and substance use disorder services to county residents who are experiencing major mental illness or substance abuse related issues. DBH provides mental health and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services to all age groups, with a primary emphasis on treating children/youth who may be seriously emotionally disturbed, adults who are experiencing a serious and persistent mental illness, and individuals who are experiencing substance use disorders. DBH also provides an array of outreach/engagement, prevention, and early intervention services. DBH's core values are service, integrity, accountability, and trust.
DBH is a unique County Department comprised of six (6) service areas: Outpatient Clinics and Youth Services; Substance Use Disorder and Recovery Services; 24-Hour and Emergency Services; Forensic and Homeless Services; Administrative Services; and Program Support Services. The Department currently has a workforce in excess of 1000 positions and an approximate $700 million-dollar annual budget.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background check that will include fingerprint/DOJ LiveScan, DMV check, and medical exam. The medical exam will include a drug and TB test. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident. Some positions may require additional background check processes dependent upon the work location.
Shifts: Some programs offer 24-hour services; some assignments may require employees to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required depending on assignment. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation (mileage reimbursement at current IRS rate is available). At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Differential:Clinical therapists regularly assigned to work in detention facilities receive additional compensation. Indicate your interest and availability for positions assigned to detention facilities on the supplemental questionnaire.
Qualifying Experience:Official commencement of job duties cannot begin until candidate possesses one (1) year of experience as a licensed therapist in a mental health or social service setting. Contingent job offers may be made to candidates who are within three (3) months of completing one (1) year of the requisite experience as a licensed therapist.
Sponsorship:Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
License: Must be licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Applicants must indicate license number and expiration date on the Supplemental Questionnaire. A copy of license is required upon appointment. Licensure must be maintained and in good standing.

Experience: One (1) year of experience as a licensed therapist in a mental health or social service setting; the application mustclearly distinguish between pre-licensed and post-licensed experience.
Note:Applications will be accepted from candidates who are within three (3) months of completing one (1) year of experience as a licensed therapist in a mental health or social service setting at time of application. Verification of qualifications will be required prior to hire.
Desired Qualifications
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language,Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply.Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
The following experience is highly desirable:
* Two (2) years ofexperience asalicensed therapistin a behavioral health or social services setting.
* Two (2) or more years of experience providing clinical supervision to Registered Associate MFTs, Registered Associate PCCs, or Registered Associate CSWs or pre-degree clinical interns.
* One or more years of experience providing clinical or administrative supervision over clinical interns and/or trainees.
* Experience in a behavioral health or social service setting in a leadership role either managing a special assignment or providing occasionalsupervisory coverage.
