Full-Time Histology Image Scanning Tech

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Histology Image Scanning Tech to join the Laboratory team This position is part of a growing Informatics Division and will be instrumental in sharing workflow feedback for optimal outcomes. The schedule will consist of daylight hours Monday through Friday and will work daily at a combination of Presbyterian Hospital, Magee Hospital, and the Clinical Lab Building (CLB) locations - all in Oakland.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Serve as the primary resource for equipment knowledge, troubleshooting, and data information regarding the imaging system.

+ Load prepared microscopic slides onto a digital image scanner for pathologist review.

+ Assist with laboratory slide preparation and delivery operations to limit disruption to workflow.

+ Perform quality assurance evaluation on scanned images.

+ Confirm slides are scanned as complete cases.

+ Prepare and analyze data metrics related to imaging system reliability.

+ Collaborate professionally with the digital imaging implementation team to ensure success.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Associate's degree in a related field preferred.

+ One year previous medical record department-related experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology, histology, anatomy, and pathology.

+ Ability to understand, manipulate, and verify data for accurate reports.

+ Ability to work in an environment with demanding rush deadlines and to concentrate under the pressure of time constraints.

+ Comfortable and proficient using computer software, specifically Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel).

+ Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and effective communication.
