Purpose:

Performs diversified maintenance duties which require work skills such as painting, insulating, scaffold building/inspecting, and general mechanic tasks.

Job Functions/Accountabilities:

* Perform some boilermaker duties and will occasionally be called to remove piping or process equipment for repairs.
* Requires the knowledge of basic process equipment, how to operate a forklift safely and how to safely remove bolts and flanges.
* Organize and lead filter bundle changes (lift coordination, forklift transfer of leaves to the stand, rigging and removal of filter bundle from elevated surfaces to ground).
* Work with contractors on scaffolding jobs to build scaffolds, ensure they are safe and sign off on the use of scaffolding in the plant.
* Paint curbs, doors, safety signs and restricted area markings to ensure safe operations of the plant.
* Develop takeoffs for insulation jobs, remove insulation safely, build temporary insulation blankets, store insulation materials and coordinate insulation contractors for material purchases.
* Assist the site's general mechanic in receiving materials, generating proper entry into SAP. This person must be able to generate requisitions in SAP for materials. They will help with conducting cycle counts of equipment that is in stores.
* Work on elevated equipment with a safety harness

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED is required.

Vocational or technical school is preferred.

Experience:

5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical or refinery facilities is required

Skills:

Forklift operator certification/training is preferred.

Scaffold erection certification/training (competent person) is preferred.

Knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS software (entering purchase requisitions) is required

Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel) is required.

DOT Training for hazardous materials is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Chemical Plant/Manufacturing environment. An extensive amount of time is spent on the floor in a manufacturing plant environment. Plant environment is a multi-acre site. Typical daily assignments are physically demanding, requiring balancing, standing, cleaning, reaching, visual discernment, crawling, climbing, twisting, turning, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, full respiratory function and lifting.
