Full Time: Hybrid/remote work opportunities available for this position (Must reside in MO, IA, AR, KS, KY, TN, IL, or FL)
Primary Responsibilities
* Prepares and maintains the budget documents for the University and affiliated auxiliaries
* Maintains and monitors position control systems for all University and auxiliary personnel
* Supports regular financial planning and analysis for unit/department level activities as well as at college, divisional, and campus levels
* Computes and analyzes additional employee costs and savings due to voluntary leave without pay, overtime and/or part time employment, FICA savings due to pre-tax benefits, supplement costs for additional medical coverage, etc
* Prepares financial data for the annual state budget request utilizing the Banner Finance System, University's data warehouse, Access database, and Excel
* Completes ad hoc projects and reports as requested
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field; Degree in business management is a plus
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in public sector, non-profit, and/or government-related entity; Experience in higher education is a plus
* Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts
* Demonstrated understanding of budgeting concepts
* Experience with data management systems
* Evidence of experience creating and modifying complicated Access queries and reports
* Strong mathematical and analytical skills
* Proficiency working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System. Ellucian Banner ERP experience is a plus
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent organizational skills
* Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
