Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team working at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a full-time, nights opportunity, working from 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
This candidate should have excellent customer service skills, as they will be working face-to-face with patients and other medical professionals daily. This Medical Laboratory Assistant is a multiskilled individual who may assist with specimen collection and processing, computer registration, order entry, computer accessioning and speciment distribution.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Performing the duties of a phlebotomist in an outpatient laboratory setting.
* Utilizing computer systems in the processing of laboratory specimens.
* Retrieving specimens from pneumatic tube system and processes specimens according to specimen type.
* Distributing specimens to different areas of the laboratory.
* Coordinating specimen pick-ups for referral testing.
* Preparing specimen transfer lists and packages specimens in accordance with laboratory policy for transport.
