Location: Glen Ellyn

Hours:Varied; Monday-Friday shifts vary from 7:00am-8:00pm. Rotating weekend coverage 8:00am-4:00pm every 6 weeks; Holidays and travel as needed.

Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist, by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

The Journeys and Adventures that Await

* Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician.
* Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
* Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
* Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
* Obtain patient's pertinent history.
* Maintains crash cart.
* Maintain and stock inventory.
* Maintain OSHA regulations.
* Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective.
* Must be able to get along with others, to be a team player, to accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules.
* Report to lead technologist for work assignments.
* Will assist with film quality control. Required to work evening and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department.
* Assists and relieve manager expediting the patient work flow through the department.

Qualifications

The Experiences You Bring

Level of Education

* Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must be AART registered or eligible also IDNS licensed.
* CPR certification
