The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the full time position of a School Psychologist for the Amherst Regional Middle School. The candidate will have expertise in conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for special education and working as part of the team to develop IEPs. The person will be working closely with a team of personnel including Special and General Education teachers, Guidance Counselors, School Adjustment Counselors, Education Team Leaders, Educational Academic Specialist, Speech and Language Pathologists to help support students with diverse learning profiles to access their education and make progress towards meeting their individual goals. Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills will be needed as this person will be working as a member of a team to support student success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct initial and triennial evaluations to determine special education eligibility
Preparing and presenting comprehensive evaluation reports including cognitive and social/emotional assessment
Serving as a Team member for IEP meetings
Complete mandatory documentation paperwork from Team meeting
Contributing to the development and writing of Individualized Educational Plans
Regular communication and collaboration with staff /administration involved in the Team process
Knowledge of transition planning and development of plans to support post-secondary goals
Engage and partner with families involved in the IEP Team process
Provide IEP counseling services to a small caseload
Collaboration and working as a member of a team with other school personnel
Completing crisis assessments such as self-harm screenings and threat assessments
Communication and engagement with families and outside agencies and providers
Attending school meetings (CST, department, faculty, etc.)
Familiarity with trauma-informed practices
Knowledge and expertise in designing and providing multi-tiered systems of support for social/emotional learning and mental health issues
Attending district-wide meetings (School Psychologist) and trainings
Attend district-wide trainings and Special Education department meetings

Qualifications:
Massachusetts School Psychologist Education certification
Expertise conducting psychological and psycho-ed evaluations
Experience with culturally diverse populations
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Bilingual candidates with multicultural proficiency preferred
