Patient Care Technician (Inpatient) PRN Nights

The successful candidate:
* This is a PRN Night shift position.
* PRN Benefits - You will receive 7 Holidays off and you are able to participate in our company-matched 401(k) and our Employee Assistance programs
* Department: Inpatient
* Organize and manage the activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and provision of care to the patient.
* Monitor ECG's, Sao2, Co2 and pressures of patients in Inpatient Services. Responsible for notifying the nursing staff if any of these is outside predefined parameters and charting printed tracings every 8 hrs. and as needed.
* Collect vital signs, intake and output, blood sugars, pain levels and other patient information as directed by the licensed nurse.
* Reports to the licensed nurse any change in patient status, patient behavior, or unusual findings of data or incidents that might have occurred.
* Documents accurately in the medical record the care that was delivered, activities completed, and other data that is collected for the patient.
* Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and unit.
* Provides support to nursing staff and other personnel in the daily activities of the unit and during emergency situations.
Minimum Experience
* Six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a health care environment OR a second-year nursing student OR six months prior experience in a medical setting.
* Training as a Unit Secretary in a hospital or equivalent setting preferred.
Minimum Education Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* PCT certification or CNA license desirable, but not required.
* Must have and Active BLS certification.
