We're currently recruiting to fill a Regular Part-Time Clerk position with the Kettering Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. If you're ready to make an impact and start something new we'd love to meet you The City of Kettering is looking for an individual skilled in customer service to fill a Regular Part-time Clerk position for nights and weekends at the Kettering Recreation Complex (KRC). This position is responsible for all aspects of customer service and clerical assistance in support of the KRC. The Regular Part-time Clerk greets patrons and answers questions regarding the facility programs and the department is responsible for all financial transactions as required for each recreation pass or activity and accepts payment for each program activity or seasonal pass. Other responsibilities include answering phones and directing calls and answering questions; dispersing program information to each registrant; generating a roster of all program registrants for use by instructors; assisting in the development of goals and objectives pertinent to the KRC; Solving problems related to registration including accepting complaints that result from the problems; completing requests for refunds/credits/transfers to registrants and forwarding to the appropriate supervisor. The Regular Part-time Clerk is also responsible for counting and logging the day's profits and opening or closing the front desk computers. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and City officials and the ability to work well with others and project a positive image to the public. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge and expertise with computers and point-of-sale operations including cash handling. An ability to gain a thorough understanding of the programs and activities offered is necessary. Must have the ability to work well with others and project a positive image to the public. Must have good knowledge of office clerical practices procedures and filing systems. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff City officials and the general public. Applicants should have at least a high school graduate-level of ability in English grammar and business math. Accuracy in all work is important. COMPENSATION: Pay range $14.11 to $21.95 per hour. Entry rate is contingent upon candidate's related skills knowledge and abilities. Benefits include prorated sick leave vacation leave and holiday pay.
