Our ideal person
Avanti Polar Lipids is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician responsible for providing support to the research and development team by preparing finished goods for packaging and shipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform formulations, filling, and packaging of research products and fully document work.
Manipulate small quantities fine powders and microliters of organic solutions.
Verify and perform order processing.
Perform inventory control of reagents, supplies, and finished goods.
Maintain and clean work areas.
Perform label printing and verification.
Report and address any problems in daily manufacturing.
Assume roles of responsibility, such as training or document control.
Transfer hazardous or nonhazardous waste materials to collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse.
Prepare and align individual performance goals with department goals.
Complete company-required training programs.
Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance as outlined in the company's Standard Operating Procedures, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Emergency Contingency Plan, training memoranda, policy memoranda, Safety Data Sheets, Specification Records, etc.
Complete all tasks in accordance with site SHE/QA requirements.
To be accountable for the health and safety of themselves and others.
Other duties may be assigned.

SPECIFIC REGULATORY/LEGAL RESPONSIBLITIES
Comply with laboratory safety procedures.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, or related field preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Understand the importance of following Health & Safety procedures and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Computer knowledge preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have oral & written proficiency in the English language.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Experienced in MS Office.

OTHER SKILLS
Strong attention to detail
High level of integrity and reliability.
Intermediate math and writing skills.
Excellent fine motor skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, give oral instructions, listen, and hear instructions.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
