Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist (on-call) to join our team.

Responsibilities

Administers respiratory care and life support to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system by prescription and under the supervision of a physician. Duties include:

Orders•Obtains physician's order 100% of the time prior to initiating therapy.Patient Assessment•Able to appropriately assess all patients before and after therapy is delivered 100% of the time. Routine Therapy•Sets up all routine therapy modalities according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. Ventilator Therapy•Able to set up and monitor all life support equipment according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. Outpatient Clinic•Able to set up and perform EKG's on patients in a timely fashion. POCT•Able to perform all POCT including controls, proficiencies and documentation. Maintain all State and JointCommission requirements for licensing and accreditation

Qualifications

Associate Respiratory Therapy Preferred

3 Years Respiratory care practitioner Preferred

1 Year Pediatric Critical Care Preferred

RT license in state of practice RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) RequiredPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) PreferredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
