Title: Intervention Specialist - INC Program Bellbrook

Reports to: Director of Greene County Academy, OA & INC

Employment Status: Full-Time, 183 days

Salary Range: Dependent on experience, excellent benefits and competitive wages.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of ODE's Social Emotional Learning Standards
* Bachelor's Degree
* Teaching license: Moderate/Intensive - Intervention Specialist Preferred, Mild/Moderate -Intervention Specialist OR Education of handicapped in areas of learning disabilities/behavior disorders (LD/BD) or emotionally-disturbed/severe behavior handicapped (ED/SBH)
* Adheres to Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
* Trained in CPI/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention-- preferred. (will provide training if needed)
* Experience in IEP writing and Data Collection
* Must be proficient at conducting FBAs and writing BIPs.
* Experience working with Emotionally Disturbed/Behaviorally Challenged Students
* Knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards and ability to write lesson plans that coordinate with them and that are differentiated to meet the needs of all students on caseload.
* Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of every student.
* Must have excellent attendance record.
* Excellent communication skills - verbal/written
* Prefer to have passing test score on Foundations of Reading (OAE 090)

General Description: Constructs and implements Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Plans for ED & other students in Learning Center program; conducts evaluations required to document student progress toward goals & objectives; participates in parent conferences to share information pertaining to the IEP & student progress.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

* Attends to the mission statement.
* Maintains a positive learning environment and understands and implement PBIS strategies.
* Constructs and coordinates the development of IEPs containing all necessary pertinent information and annual goals with short-term objectives for students.
* Follows the established classroom management system, contracts with student; teaches pro-social skills to the students following the process of modeling, discussion, role playing as part of their daily lesson plans.
* Develop effective educational experiences that engage and stimulate student learning.
* Varies instructional strategies to address students' varied learning styles.
* Communicates expectations, provides guidance, and shows an active interest in student progress.
* Develops rapport and regular communication with parents/guardians.
* Utilizes the daily system of documentation/information collection to verify implementation of objectives and individual student progress towards goals and objectives relating to behavior and academics.
* Develops and implements weekly lesson plans, writing monthly reports to the home school of the student and writing a monthly observation of his/her group.
* Develops a knowledge of required content standards and courses of study.
* Follows the policies and procedures for redirection of behaviors and disciplinary action for Learning Center students adopted by GCESC.
* Participates in in-service training provided for staff.
* Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
* Subscribes to the annual Teacher Evaluation process.
* Other responsibilities that correlate with this teaching position.
* Responsible for maintaining proper license and credentials.
* Must remain up to date with LPDC and IPDP requirements.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

* Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens.
* Conducts other duties related to the teacher's duties as assigned by the Director/Principal or GCESC Superintendent of schools.
