Mechanic II

WORK PLACE DESCRIPTION:
75% time in well lighted, ventilated building and 25% in field. Generally hot and humid weather in summer months. Must work in inclement weather conditions, including freezing conditions if necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs repairs and maintenance on all agricultural equipment used to power machines such as tractors, trucks, automobiles, and stationary engines. Requires moderate supervision, except close supervision from Mechanic Supervisor or Diesel Mechanic on any diagnostic work.
OTHER FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Assist other mechanics when required. Performs other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Must have general knowledge and proven experience in repairs and maintenance of all agricultural equipment. Must be able to read, write, understand, and interpret service and repair manuals, with guidance from Mechanic Supervisor or Diesel Mechanic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
HS education or equivalent. Must have 1 year experience on repairs and maintenance of all agricultural equipment. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted (including, but not limited to, various attachments and related equipment parts).
