Summary

Diesel Shop Supervisor

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of technicians to ensure repairs are completed in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

* Performs supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel including interviewing, hiring, firing, developing, planning, assigning work, coaching, disciplining, addressing, and resolving complaints
* Confers with fleet and other administrative personnel regarding terminal functions and equipment needs
* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
* Processes shop work orders to ensure timely completion of equipment repairs and to account for labor hours and billable revenue
* Works closely with accounting on matters regarding invoice payables and receivables and the P&L statement
* Assists drivers with repair write ups and addresses concerns as needed
* Coordinates with vendors to schedule warranty work
* Oversees parts procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels and to control consumables
* Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies and procedures
* Prepares customer quotes with detailed scope of work for parts and labor hours
* Researches, compiles, updates, presents, and tracks spreadsheets and reports
* Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* Performs work requiring advanced knowledge while consistently exercising discretion and judgement
* Demonstrates effective leadership
* Communicates effectively both oral and written
* Must have adequate tools to do the job
* Possesses strong administrative, people, administrative, and organizational skills
* Managers multiple priorities and deadlines
* Knowledgeable of Federal DOT Guidelines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs
* Ability to lift up-to 75 lbs.
* Valid driver's license, CDL preferred
* Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or 5 years related experience and/ or training
* 5 + years of managerial or supervisory experience of a diesel repair shop
* ASE Diesel Certification
* PACCAR experience

Work Environment:

The nature of the working environment is one which the employee may encounter outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, and excessive noise levels.
