Environmental Services Aide

Department: Environmental Services

Shift: Days

Daily Work Times: 7:30am to 4:00 pm

Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 80

Position Summary:

Maintains cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, and disinfecting. Cleans patients rooms for occupancy after discharge.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Sets up, organizes, cleans and maintains work area.

* Cleans items such as, but not limited to, floors, restrooms, showers, tubs, furniture, windows, lights, drinking fountains, fire extinguishers, and waste baskets.
* Maintains cleanliness by using methods such as, but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, damp mopping, vacuuming, washing, wiping, polishing, disinfecting as appropriate and spot wash walls.
* Responsible for correct use of cleaning compounds.
* Responsible for using and cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
* Replaces supplies as needed.
* May be assigned to change drapes, shower curtains and cubicles.
* Prepares patient room for occupancy after patient is discharged.
* Participates in performance improvement activities.
* Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
