Maintenance Supervisor I - 4th Shift

Job description

Main Purpose

Supervise the performance and activity of the maintenance mechanics. This is a working supervisor role that would work side by side with techs and be there to supervise and train as needed.

The role

Key job responsibilities

* Assign tasks to employees and monitor their activities; ensure maintenance area is neat and organized
* Ensure maintenance personnel are following all operational and health and safety procedures
* Supervise the preventive maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment
* Coordinate all major projects, ex. shut downs
* Manage the organization of maintenance shop and parts trailer
* Oversee mobile equipment maintenance i.e., forklift, track and back hoes and assist Maintenance Manager to ensure parts and supplies are in inventory

The person

Qualifications

* A high school diploma or equivalent is required
* 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
* Previous management experience is a plus. The selected candidate will work independently with little to minimal supervision and frequently required to multi-task
* Ability to read equipment prints; secure information from OEM manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and read, understand and apply common operational documents, SOP's, and training modules
* The ability to drive a forklift and completion of OSHA lock out/tag out and confined space entry training may be required
* The selected candidate must successfully complete HAZWOPPER training (provided during first week of employment)
* must participate in an OSHA/HAZWOPER physical examination
* must have the ability to work occasional overtime and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen (urine and hair), and background check
* The ability to obtain a physician's certification to wear a respirator is required
* The candidate must have own tools and valid driver's license
* The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required
