Medical Technologist Per Diem

As our most acute level of care, our specialty hospitals offer the same critical care patients receive in a traditional hospital or intensive care unit, but for an extended recovery period. Our clinicians play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill and medically complex patients.

A Medical Technologist:

* Performs analyses in hematology, chemistry urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank and microbiology according to expected performance standards.


* Performs venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick on identified patients by physician's request in a timely, accurate and caring manner.


* Keeps documented records current regarding maintenance and quality control.


* Meets the lab service goals as scheduled or report problems to lab director.


* Promotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues.


* B.A. / B.S. or equivalent in Medical Technology or related clinical field.


* Valid state Clinical Lab Scientist license if required by the state.


* Requires MT (MLS or CLS) or MLT license - please attach with resume
* 1-2 years experience in clinical laboratory.



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations:

* Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.


* Comprehensive knowledge of applicable safety, quality control, and specimen handling guidelines and procedures.


* Skilled in using applicable laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, meters, microscopes, incubators, pipettes, autoclaves, and sterilizers.


* Ability to work quickly and accurately when under strict deadlines.


* Considerable knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical laboratory methods and instrumentation. Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, laboratory medicine, disease processes, and laboratory procedures.


* Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.


* Must have good and regular attendance.


* Performs other related duties as assigned.
