Lunchroom/Recess Aides Job Goal:
  • To supervise student activity to maintain a safe and orderly environment

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Human relation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Responsibilities:
  • Enforce all school rules and procedures as established by the building principal.
  • Monitor behavior of all students while they are in lunch or recess.
  • Keep the appropriate teachers and principal aware of behavior (positives and concerns).
  • Regulate the orderly procession of students to and from lunch or recess.
  • Report any safety concerns pertaining to the lunch or recess environment.
  • Interact with students and monitor their actions by circulating throughout the area.
  • Assist students in solving conflicts.
  • Review lunch or recess rules with students as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all students and staff.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned from time to time by administration.

Hours & Pay: School-time position. Hours dependent upon school location schedule (Holmes and Maercker Schools) with compensation and conditions established by the Board of Education.
