Job Description

Sign On Bonus Opportunity

$10,000.00 sign-on bonus available for technologists who are registered in both mammography and breast ultrasound. 2 year commitment required.

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Regularly performs breast ultrasound exams and procedures.
  2. Processes computer images to enhance the clinical and diagnostic information of the sonographic image.
  3. Performs mammographic imaging studies.
  4. Performs mammography related quality control activities
  5. Ensures radiation safety and monitoring per facility and professional regulations and guidelines.
  6. Completes all required documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner according to organizational and professional standards.
  7. Communicates effectively with the patient, patient's family and all others involved with the patient's care.
  8. Collects monthly performance improvement information.
  9. Actively seeks and participates in educational opportunities, both formal and informal, to achieve and maintain knowledge and skill to ensure world class, evidence-based health care for all patients.
  10. Demonstrates a collaborative approach to patient care - is a team player. Seeks ways to support and assist other members of the team.
  11. Promotes positive inter- and intra-departmental collaboration and communication.
  12. Provides and ensures safe handoff communication of information pertinent to patient care.
  13. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  14. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:
  1. Represents department in community activities.
  2. Ensures department compliance with all environment of care regulations.


Qualifications

Job Specifications:
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Radiography program and successful completion of ARRT certification exam. Indiana State Department of Health radiologic technologist license. Registered ARMDS or ARRT Breast Ultrasound preferred (or completion of ARDMS or ARRT Breast Ultrasound registration within 24 months of employment). Must meet current ACR breast ultrasound requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year practical work experience as a Ultrasound Technologist. Breast ultrasound and Mammography experience preferred. Willing to train for Mammography Technologist to be registered within 1 year.
