Maintenance Supervisor

Work Shift:

Position Overview:

* Demonstrates the ability to operate power and manual equipment required to perform specialized trade functions.
* Diagnoses and performs needed actions to correct equipment problems and failures. Inspects and makes necessary repairs to specialized manual and power equipment in accordance with facility preventative maintenance programs, manufacturer's specifications and safe operational practices.
* Determines and specifies supplies and materials required to accomplish projects.
* Plans and performs installation of new equipment consistent with established CH and departmental codes and safe operating practices.
* Performs other duties as assigned; willingness to adapt to changing departmental demands.
* Performs a variety of maintenance activities which may include snow removal, moving furniture and equipment and so forth as required.
* Assigns work projects and teams. Establishes work and vacation schedules.
* Trains in safe operational practices and safety precautions for handling hazardous materials.
* Resolves operational, technical, system and other related issues.
* Maintains usage and inventory level of supplies and equipment to ensure appropriate use and available supply.
* Inspects work areas and equipment on a regular basis to ensure conformance with maintenance schedules, to ensure a proper and safe operating condition, to ensure malfunctions are reported and corrected in a timely manner and to ensure a clean and safe operating environment.
* Issues and verify's monthly preventative maintenance work orders are completed to departmental goals.
* Seeks proactively and completes unassigned work such as replacing stained ceiling tile, cleans actively shop and mechanical rooms, and repairs broken floor equipment.
* Ensures Preventive Maintenance and Environment of Care Survey work orders are completed at or above established goals.
* Works with departmental and non-departmental staff to complete work orders without management intervention.

Requirement:

High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational training relevant to area(s) of supervision. Supervisory training/course preferred.

Three years experience relevant to area(s) of supervision.

Drivers License

Computer use skills, including e-mail and data bases. Proficiency in relevant building equipment and troubleshooting, and safe use of trade tools.

Working knowledge of various codes (i.e. NFPA, NEC, National Plumbing code)
