Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are recruiting a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a leading healthcare organization in Sacramento. This position is for a 2-3 month project and is a great chance for proven performers to possibly be hired as internal positions become available. The LVN is responsible for providing patient care services under the direction of a Physician, RN, NP or PA. 100% onsite, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Pay: $35/hour.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of outpatient clinical experience as an LVN, exceptional customer service and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, provide and maintain necessary healthcare services.
- Assist in prepping patients for examinations or procedures, document patient concerns for physician review.
- Perform accurate vital sign measurements and documentation.
- Administration of prescribed medications and the therapeutic effects, treatments, and disease prevention, as ordered by the physician.
- Assist health professionals by contributing to the treatment planning process.
- Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing as ordered. Clean and maintain equipment, restock and clean exam rooms.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 3 years' experience working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in an outpatient setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current CA Licensed Vocational Nurse required.
- Current BLS required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Positive team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational and patient customer service skills.
- Medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding procedures and reference tools.
- Ability to use good judgement and pass a background check and drug screen.
