Description:
  • Assist the General Education Teacher by providing reading support to individual students and small groups of children.
Essential Duties:
  • Works with students to help them achieve the reading skill level of the class as a whole.
  • Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
  • Assist in producing and organizing the learning environment, equipment and materials.
  • Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by teacher.
  • Assists with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
  • Reads to students, listens to students read and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.
  • Supervisor for Lunch/Recess
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Some reading/writing and language college classes preferred?
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to staff and students
  • Willingness to learn developmentally appropriate educating practices
  • Assist in producing and organizing the learning environment, equipment and materials
  • Provide individual or small group student support
  • Ability to walk long distances
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to take written and oral instructions

Schedule/Wage:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 10:30 - 3:45
  • $14.50 Per Hour - Math and Reading Support Aide
  • $16.00 Per Hour - Lunch/Rescess
