Position Purpose
To support identified students one-on-one, in the classroom, for behavior and academic reason.

Essential Job Functions
Daily Supervision
  • Bus lot morning and afternoon.
  • Hallways, each passing period.
  • Cafeteria, breakfast and lunch periods.
  • Restrooms, during passing periods, homeroom period and non-classroom visitation time.
  • On-call responsibilities with student services.
Group Meetings
  • Identified students will be pulled out of non-instructional time (homeroom and/ or study hall) to meet about character development with respect to behavior, academics, attendance, graduation requirements, and post-graduation goals.
  • Meet with Special Education Department Chair and teachers to identify students in need.
Reporting System/ Accountability
  • In order for these expectations to be met, specific criteria related to accountability will be collected. A daily log of student contacts will be maintained and will be turned in and discussed weekly with building administration.
  • Logs will include referrals from:
    • Administration.
    • Communication contact with parents.
    • Special Education Department Chairs.
    • Guidance Counselors.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone.

Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Pay Rates
$16.40 per hour.

Work Schedule
7.25 hours per day.
182 days per year.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience in:
    • Development instructional strategies and programs.
    • Assessing, collecting data and diagnosing needs.
    • Delivering and evaluating interventions.
  • Knowledge and experience with cognitive coaching, peer coaching, and/ or mentoring, Coach for Success Skilled at collaboration.
  • Skills in providing professional development to large groups.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge and experience with diverse populations (English Language Learners (ELL's), Special Education).
  • Ability to work collaborating with all staff members.

Education
  • BA degree.
