Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Patient Care Technician for our practice will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. What you will do in this role:

* You will be under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), and will assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department
* You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment
* You will promote consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service
* You will demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions
* You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications
* You will engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
* You will participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues

Qualifications:

* This position is in the Neuro Stroke Services department
* Graduate from high school or equivalent
* Current C.N.A certification in the state of Nevada
* Current BCLS
* Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment
* Management of Aggressive Behavior/De-escalation Techniques course (CPI/hospital approved course within 90 days of hire)
* Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by manager/director
* Minimum of one-year direct patient care preferred
* Minimum one-year experience working with patients with neurological diagnosis preferred
