    REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor/Manager, Building Administrator

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Maintain the facilities in a clean and orderly condition in accordance to the district's standards. Custodians will be provided with daily assignments and checklists assigned by building administrators, management and/or supervisors. Custodians will follow the direction of lead custodians. Custodians will actively communicate with building administrators to ensure building needs are addressed properly.

    The Facilities Department will operate in a professional and customer service minded manner in accordance with district standards.

    Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee will frequently be required to sit, stand and/or walk, and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust to focus.     WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Majority of work will be indoors, but will require outdoor work in all types of weather conditions.

    1. Extensive knowledge in custodial operations, equipment use, and district expectations.
    2. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    3. Expertise in commercial cleaning, such as: buffing, stripping/waxing floors, stoning, gym floor applications, and all other facets of maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
    4. Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.
    5. Must be dedicated, determined, and dependable.
    6. Must be knowledgeable in some general maintenance such as: light bulb replacement, filter replacement, plumbing, etc.
    7. Perform daily assignments and checklists as assigned by management.
    8. Maintain building cleanliness in accordance with district standards.
    9. Assist with events, such as: set up, tear down, and clean up.
    10. Provide excellent customer service to all building occupants and visitors.
    11. Responsible for physical building security to ensure that all windows and doors are secure on a daily basis.
    12. Salting and shoveling as required during inclement weather.
    13. Responsible for exterior building perimeter debris removal.
    14. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    15. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or equivalent.
    16. Experience in commercial custodial services is preferred.
