Summer Extended School Year (ESY) staff will support one of these locations: Liberty Elementary School, Kenyon Woods Middle School or Bartlett High School.
- Two days of professional development are required for summer school. Those dates are May 31, 2024 and June 3, 2024.
- Summer School begins on June 4 and ends July 3. Summer school occurs Monday through Thursday with no school on June 19, 2024 to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Staff must be available on all days during the summer school sessions.
- Summer staff is expected to be at school 15 minutes prior to the school day and 15 minutes after the school day concludes.
- Staff hours: 7:45 am - 11:45 am
- Student school day: 8:00 am - 11:30 am
- ETA members will be paid the Instructional Rate

Function / Position Summary
Provide support and case management for students with orthopedic impairments in order that they may access the educational environment to the greatest extent possible.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide education and in-service activities to staff and students regarding types of disabilities that impact students in the classroom as necessary and appropriate.
- Facilitate accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology necessary for students to fully access the learning environment.
- Ensure students services and programs are implemented per the IEP.
- Participate in team communication, team meetings, and other communication with classroom teachers and other staff.
- Attend and participate in annual reviews, case study evaluations, and team meetings.
- Communicate with parents regarding student issues that impact in school.
- Provide awareness activities related to the challenges encountered by orthopedic impaired students.
- Participate in information sharing meetings with appropriate building staff to identify and problem-solve individual students' needs.
- Complete any additional necessary paperwork (daily logs, communication notebooks)
- Communicate with community agencies in order to develop transition services and programming for students.
- Participate in level transition meetings to ensure smooth transitions for students changing grade levels.
- As appropriate, implements assessments of student progress and communicates progress to students and parents.
- Perform all necessary functions of case management when appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the principal, or other administrative staff.
- Ensure appropriate evacuation plans are in place for all OI students who require them
- Appropriate Illinois certification (LBS 1)
- Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.
- Emphasis in OI preferred.
- Teaching experience is preferred, but not necessary for employment.
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Must work indoors
