Description:

Under the supervision of the coordinator, complete tasks and services within University Bursar, specifically in the Accounts Receivable Operations (ARO). These tasks involve utilizing expertise in Banner Accounts Receivable, creating and maintaining GAR accounts, reconciling miscellaneous accounts, and applying payments. The main responsibilities include optimizing the collection of general accounts receivable and serving as the primary point of contact for initiating activities related to all general accounts receivable within the University of Illinois system. This responsibility spans from onboarding new departments to ensuring receivables are paid throughout their lifecycle. Sponsorship for Work authorization is not available for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the creation and updates of GAR accounts. Oversee the GAR Online Payment Center for General Accounts Receivable payments. Research and process payments for general accounts, including manual payments from external sources and applying payments to invoices as per customer specifications. Review, analyze, and reconcile miscellaneous Banner transactions. Act as a liaison between University departments, external customers, and ARO to resolve issues related to general accounts receivable. Initiate and manage collection activities for delinquent general accounts receivable, monitoring collection performance for the entire portfolio. Process monthly GAR refunds. Update training and information guides used to educate ARO, University Bursar Customer Service staff, and University departments on operational policies and procedures. Assist in analyzing and developing operational policies and procedures, including identifying areas for policy development and providing recommendations for administrative review and implementation. Participate in University, campus, and/or University Bursar committees/teams as assigned. Perform other duties as required for a Business Administrative Associate.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
* Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.

(NOTE: A Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)
