Description:

Intervention Specialist in a middle school setting. This position will begin in the 2024/2025 school year.

Qualifications:

* Valid Ohio Teaching License as an Intervention Specialist (K-12).

Experience:

* Previous teaching experience developing and delivering services within Individual Educational Programs, Behavioral Intervention Plans, and Safety Plans;
* Previous experience providing/ensuring core instruction across a child's school day in accordance with Individual Education Plans, Behavioral Interventions, and Safety Plans.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

* Abides by all performance responsibilities of a classroom teacher;
* Participates in the assessment and design of services for student with disabilities;
* Participates in writing an individual educational program (IEP) for each assigned student;
* Plans and delivers services that meets the individual needs of the student as specified in the individual educational plan (IEP);
* Consults with classroom teachers on a regular basis to make recommendations concerning adjustment of academic and social strategies for students in the specific learning disabilities program;
* Consults with parents of students with disabilities on a regular basis about the student's progress;
* Conducts an ongoing assessment of each student's academic skills, making adjustments in teaching strategies and curriculum as needed;
* Serves as a resource person for faculty and administration as requested in the area of disability;
* Maintains appropriate records and provides data for completion of annual reports;
* Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Salary and Range:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Secondary Schools Building Principal
