JOB TITLE: Respiratory Therapist

REPORT TO: VP Finance/Operations

HOURS OF WORK: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm M-F (Flexible) plus On-Call

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver and set up all sleep products including but not limited to CPAP, BIPAP, APNEA
  • Perform pulse oximetry for evaluations and / or nocturnal studies as required
  • Deliver and set up oxygen and/or drug aerosol equipment as required
  • Instruct patient and/or family caregivers in proper use, safety, storage and cleaning of respiratory equipment and supplies provided by Blackburn's
  • Perform follow-up evaluations as required by insurances, referral sources or PCP's
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, legibly, accurately and within time guidelines of company procedures
  • As needed, assist with in-home concentrator checks, equipment trouble-shooting, exchanges, etc.
  • Assist as needed with equipment cleaning and testing in the warehouse - including completion of all appropriate maintenance records
  • Participate in clinical in services as needed.
  • Actively participate in training activities for drivers and other staff as needed
  • Actively participate in Joint Commission activities
  • Assist in inventory completion
  • Evaluate new products and report results to manager
  • Evaluate patients for other services they may need
  • Perform any other duties as designated by management

CONTINUING EDUCATION:
  • Attend departmental in-services
  • Review industry literature, bulletins and memos
  • Utilize audio/video tapes related to the field as provided
  • Attend workshop / seminars on products and related subjects
  • Attend monthly department meetings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current PA Respiratory Therapist License. Must have valid PA Driver's License. Minimum two years clinical experience. Proficient computer skills, must have good written and verbal skills. Attention to detail mandatory.
