Job Title: 6-month Hybrid 20-30 hours Flex Schedule Accounts Receivable Specialist/Billing Specialist

Location: Canton, Ma

Pay: $27-$29/hour

Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing customer invoices and supporting the day-to-day operational activities of the accounts receivable department. This role involves creating and distributing invoices, recording and verifying payments, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded according to internal accounting policies. The specialist will also maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, respond to customer inquiries, and assist with researching discrepancies related to invoices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process all sales orders and invoices.
  • Conduct accounting audits of all shipments.
  • Enter invoices into customer-specific portals as required.
  • Process approved Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) Credit Memos.
  • Verify Resale Tax and Value Added Tax (VAT).
  • Resolve daily issues related to invoices, such as providing backup support.
  • Assist with processing A/R cash receipts.
  • Learn about the company's business operations as appropriate.
  • Punctually attend work as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager or department head.

Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and a basic understanding of debits and credits.
  • High proficiency with accounting software; experience with Great Plains is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • An associate degree or two years of relevant business school training required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Ability and willingness to be a collaborative team member and assist in other areas as needed.
  • Ability to follow all applicable Business Management System (BMS) processes.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to compose reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact diplomatically with external clients and company personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and other electronic office tools.
  • Knowledge and adherence to established company core values.
