Surgical Technician

Job Overview:

This position is a Surgical Technician for the Labor & Delivery Department at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Located in Livingston, NJ - come join one of the best L&D departments in New Jersey

Qualifications:

Required:

* Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED


* Graduate of a Surgical Technician Program


* AST or NBSTA Certified


* Basic Life Support with American Heart Association required



Preferred:

* One year Operating Room experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

* Basic Life Support Certification
* Surgical Tech Certification

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

* Daily, 6:30a-7:30p
* Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

* The OR Surgical Technician functions as the scrub nurse for surgical patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse,


* Ability to scrub on all surgical procedures as assigned,


* Responsible for the judicious use of supplies and equipment,


* Maintains an aseptic environment throughout the procedure,


* Assists with preoperative care as outlined in the Policy and Procedure manuals,
