Our dedicated workforce consists of licensed professionals, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Therapists, and Nurses.

The Hampton Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a compassionate and skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing direct psychiatric services to clients. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, medical evaluation services, medication management, clinical documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to clients.
  • Administer medical evaluations and medication management as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in treatment planning meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Provide support, education, and guidance to clients and their families.

Requirements: Medical degree with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and some experience in clinical/hospital practice in service to the mentally ill. Licensed as a Psychiatrist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Virginia Controlled Substance Registration and DEA Registration.


The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
