Overview The Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive overnight Polysomnographic testing, provides appropriate patient care throughout the testing process, and completes scoring and analysis of Polysomnographic test results. Greets and orients patients to the Sleep Lab. Explains pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patient, and addresses patient questions and/or concerns, referring patient to provider as appropriate. Reviews patient history and physical information, medications, procedure request, and study protocol. Completes and verifies documentation. Verifies integrity of collected data. Completes data collection process, including repeating calibrations and assisting patient in completion of paperwork. Demonstrates knowledge of and competency in Polysomnographic testing and a proven ability to utilize standard Polysomnographic equipment within a team structure, and ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and physicians.
