Knowledge, skills, & Experience

General Summary:

The Associate Infrastructure & Operations Technician provides technical assistance and support related to computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure. The position also covers daytime operations support on a rotational basis and nighttime operational support on a rotational basis to cover PTO.

Essential Functions:

1. Performs a variety of technical duties, including the monitoring and installation of software, hardware, networks, and troubleshooting of machines.

2. Performs diagnostics, taking corrective actions for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment as necessary.

3. Identifies network issues/errors, resolving them or escalating them as appropriate.

4. Demonstrates awareness of support issues/needs as they apply on a company-wide and business basis.

5. Creates and maintains documentation to support, enforce standards, policies, and procedures.

6. Provides support to end users that have various levels of computer proficiency.

7. Processes data in a timely and efficient manner, prints reports, confirms quality control and distribution of output media.

8. Assists with maintaining the physical security of the computer systems and the computer room.

9. Insures strict adherence to all data center policies and procedures.

10. Works directly with on-call support staff in problem identification and resolution.

11. Maintains daily operational logs and provides management with daily operational status reports.

You may be a goof fit for this position if you:

1. Associate degree in a technology discipline or equivalent work experience.

2. Ability to work varying hours; day and nighttime shifts as need to cover other associates who are out of the office.

4. Foundational network troubleshooting and diagnostics skills and knowledge of basic networking principles including wireless, VPN technologies.

5. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of internal and external personnel with emphasis on follow-through and reporting.

6. Must have excellent organization and technical documentation skills including accurate data entry skills.

7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; solve problems requiring creativity, curiosity, initiative, and drive; self-motivated.

8. Ability to organize projects and tasks according to priorities and work extended periods of time at a terminal or PC using a keyboard and mouse
