The Iowa Medical and Classification Center (IMCC) is a multi-faceted correctional institution that serves as the male reception center for Iowa Department of Corrections as well as housing a forensic psychiatric hospital, short term ambulatory/long term ambulatory, special needs unit and a hospice unit to name a few.

This position will work in our Testing Department. The Psychology Assistant is responsible for determining who needs various educational testing to insure incarcerated individuals have the opportunities to further their education. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Guidance and Counseling, or Human Development and Behavior;

OR

One year of full-time technical level work experience in the areas mentioned above (such as psychiatric aide, Youth Service Worker, Social Work Associate, Social Worker, Vocational Rehabilitation Assistant, Resident Treatment Worker, Vocational Instructor, or Drug Abuse Counselor) may be substituted for each 30 semester hours of the required education.
