School Psychologist

Provides diagnostic services to program youth to facilitate an environment where students can learn.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides for diagnostic services for youth enrolled in an organizational program.
* Conducts assessments of cognitive, educational, behavioral, and emotional functioning of youth and provides formal reports documenting the results of special education evaluations.
* Attends Multidisciplinary Team and Individual Education Plan meetings for Boys Town schools.
* Consults with teachers and school administrative personnel regarding implementation of strategies and interventions; provides recommendations and addresses both behavioral and academic functioning.
* Works with schools and outside agencies to provide transition services for youth leaving a program.
* Integrates services across the school and residential settings.
* Administers the operating policies and procedures of Boys Town and the Boys Town Schools.
* Handles contacts appropriately with internal staff and outside agencies, including media and special interest groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Ability to design and conduct evaluation activities in child behavior problems.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care.
* Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
* Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
* Knowledge of the Boys Town Model.
