Description

This position is responsible for identifying and maintaining records of business personal property and for ensuring compliance with the Texas Occupation Tax Code.

Examples of Duties

* Monitors and maintains coin-operated machine permits; enforces coin-operated license and permit requirements; maintains related inventory reports.
* Performs field inspections of business sites.
* Determines license and permit fees.
* Mails licenses and permits to business officers.
* Maintains accurate up-to-date records of business owners.
* Provides information to the public as requested; assists taxpayers with motor vehicle inquiries.
* Processes motor vehicle renewals, permits and transfers.
* Resolves complex motor vehicle issues.
* Sends letters to registered motor vehicle owners who may have an interest in the vehicle.
* Maintains files and records.
* Processes passport applications.
* Assists in receiving payments, processing transmittals, preparing packages to be mailed, closing cashboxes and running reports.
* Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
* Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of related work experience.

Supplemental Information

* Knowledge of the occupational tax code.
* Knowledge of the transportation code.
* Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
* Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
* Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the work of personnel.
* Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
* Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
* Skill in oral and written communication.
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
