Description

  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  3. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  4. Provide safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized training as needed.
  5. Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets (SDS).
  6. Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  7. Conduct risk assessments and recommend measures to minimize occupational health and safety risks.
  8. Monitor and track safety performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
  9. Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as required.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to occupational health and safety.


Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field.
  2. Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician) preferred.
  3. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  4. In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
  5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.
  8. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  9. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple work sites as needed.
