Medical Biller - Contract to Hire
Location: Sandy Springs, GA
Pay: $19.00/Hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday / 7:30am to 4:30pm
Summary:
The Medical Biller manages accounts receivable, facilitates communication with patients and third-party payors, and ensures accurate billing and collections within healthcare settings.

  • Prioritize and manage delinquent accounts based on age and dollar amount.
  • Conduct collection activities, including contacting patients and resubmitting claims to third-party payors in adherence to company policies.
  • Process payments from insurance and patients, ensuring accurate posting of charges and balances.
  • Respond to correspondence and requests for documentation promptly.
  • Review third-party Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for accuracy of payments.
  • Evaluate validity of denials, request reviews, and appeals as necessary.
  • Address patient inquiries and resolve billing complaints.
  • Identify accounts for potential collections and make recommendations to the Billing Manager.
  • Monitor insurance issues and liaise with representatives for timely resolutions.
  • Support scheduling and check-in procedures for patient advocates.
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities to stay updated on industry practices.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of collection experience in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices, ICD-9 and CPT coding, insurance operating procedures, and regulatory provisions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and calculator use.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be vaccinated.
