Client Overview:

Our client, an industry-leading cosmetics and beauty brand, is seeking a Junior Chemist to perform formulations for various product lines. They are seeking a Junior Chemist who is passionate about the mission of sustainability and using the latest technologies and data to support innovation in the industry.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$19/hr - $23/hr

Position Overview:

The Junior Chemist will be joining a dedicated team to ensure the fast-paced production of products from a variety of well-known brands, such as sunscreen, moisturizers, serums, color cosmetics, etc. The team needs a Junior Chemist who has a strong chemistry foundation and can learn quickly to contribute to the team.

Responsibilities of the Junior Chemist:

* Assist Chemists with batching according to provided formulas
* Perform stability testing (viscosity, pH, and rheology)
* Fill samples
* Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment
* Strictly follow SOPs and safety procedures
* Collaborate across departments while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor

Qualifications for the Junior Chemist:

* 0 - 2 years of experience in a lab setting, preferably analytical chemistry and/or cGMP lab
* Knowledge of HPLC, GC, and other wet chemistry techniques, academic OK
* Experience is preferred (internship, co-op, or related), or strong interest in the cosmetics industry
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Education Requirements:

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related sciences is required
