Job Summary:

Provides technical leadership in General Radiology, including staff orientation, education and continuous quality improvement. Works with Medical Director of Imaging, supervisor and staff to develop and maintain a safe operation. Performs high quality Radiology Imaging and assists with procedures under the direction of the radiologist following department policies.

Key Position Details:

* Full-time position scheduled for day and evening shifts and every fourth weekend.
* Holiday rotation required.
* Benefit eligible.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

* Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines including
* Identifies patient with two identifiers.
* Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
* Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
* Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.


* Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
* Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
* Maintains work knowledge and competence.
* Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
* Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.


* Provides accurate clerical function
* Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
* Understand the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
* Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.


* Works with Imaging Leadership
* Coordinates Radiology imaging protocols with the radiologist so they are accurately maintained in the scanner.
* Participates in equipment selection.
* Procures and monitors materials inventory.
* Coordinates new employee orientation.
* Reports problem, issues or ideas.
* Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work of the team.


* Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Vocational or Technical Training graduate of School of Radiologic Technology required
* 2 to 5 Years as Radiology Technologist required
* Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required radiology certification upon hire
* BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
