Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Behavioral Health Service line provides clinical, administrative leadership and expertise; is a department head; responsible for the total management, leadership and operations of the behavioral health service line across the continuum of care, on a twenty-four-hour basis. This position has a matrix reporting structure to the SVP/ COO of Guthrie Medical Group PC, and the SVP/ Presidents of Guthrie Hospitals. Will serve as the primary dyad partner to the physician Chief of Behavioral Health services.

Areas of responsibility include performance improvement, patient/employee satisfaction, budget development and fiscal accountability, human resource management, marketing outreach and regulatory oversight. In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and the Department Chairman, develops strategic vision, designs services and programs, recruits and retains clinical staff, monitors to assure clinical quality outcomes, and to define and implement best practices. Must consistently demonstrate Guthrie Values.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

The Senior Director, Behavioral Health Service line must hold a master's degree in healthcare, Healthcare related field, or Nursing, with 5 years progressively relevant clinical mental health experience. The ideal candidate will hold certification as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) or a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).

EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated minimum five years of experience with progressively increasing and successful leadership of the clinical, human resource, regulatory, and fiscal performance in a Behavioral Health inpatient and outpatient setting. Experience, full understanding and ability to operationalize regulations affecting Behavioral Health Services in Pennsylvania and New York.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for developing a strategic plan for the service line that will result in the realization of a defined vision for Behavioral Health services across The Guthrie Clinic.

2. Responsible for developing and maintaining budgets and providing on-going financial oversight. Assist with billing compliance.

3. Participates in medical group and hospital initiatives to increase revenues and reduce expenses.

4. Provides leadership for promoting safe, effective, efficient patient care, according to best practices.

5. Assures the integration of nationally recognized standards as appropriate for designated patient population.

6. Creates a work environment that enhances employee and patient satisfaction.

7. Supports an environment that achieves employee engagement at Tier 1 level and excellence in practice environment at or above benchmark mean.

8. Responsible for human resource management of department staff, including recruitment, retention, problem resolution, and competency compliance. Accountable for oversight of regulatory compliance

9. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
