Infection Preventionist

This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of an effective facility-wide Infection Prevention program in keeping with Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Joint Commission, OSHA, Title 22, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and other regulatory agencies.  Responsible for or assisting with monitoring, evaluating, planning and coordinating the Infection Prevention program designed to enhance the quality of patient care. Coordinates staff education as it relates to Infection Control and Prevention practices including general orientation and inservicing staff.

• This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center (“ARMC”) and AHMC Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of ARMC. The employee shall support ARMC’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. Education/Training/Experience            

Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, or healthcare related field required.

Minimum three years’ acute care experience preferred

Certification in Infection Control required

           Demonstrated knowledge related to microbiology, epidemiology and infections, public health, diseases, sterilization, sanitation and disinfection practices

           In-depth knowledge of patient care practices

              Basic computer proficiency

Licenses/Certifications              

Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
