TITLE: Cafeteria Monitor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a high school diploma or G.E.D
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Has demonstrated the ability or potential to communicate and work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: Supervise the cafeteria during lunchtime
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be familiar with, communicate, and follow written policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
- Communicate and facilitate cafeteria expectations to students, staff, and guests
- Circulate through cafeteria for approximately two (2) hours
- Responsible to ensure the tables and chairs are clean and ready for the next class
- Assist students and guests in finding appropriate seating
- Actively monitor and manage the conduct and manners of students
- Notify the principal when extreme misconduct occurs
- Be aware of and assist students with specific needs based on physical and/or mental constraints
- Assist students in opening milk cartons, thermos, etc
- Remind children, when necessary, to leave eating area clean and orderly
- Assist students in lining up when lunch period is over and communicate with classroom teacher the behavior of their class on a daily basis
- Report to the principal any ideas or suggestions for improving the dining pleasure of all
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Length of school year not to exceed 175 pupil attendance days, 4 holidays and 1in-service day
- Daily work schedule determined by principal
- Salary Schedule: G1
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
EVALUATION: Performance of the position will be evaluated annually by the principal
