The salary for this position is $35.37 - $53.01/hour.

Adventist Health Portland, part of both the Adventist Health and Oregon Health and Science University health systems features of a 302-bed medical center, 34 medical clinics, and home care and hospice services in the Portland metro area. Job Summary:

Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the outpatient department while operating specialized equipment. Participates in hiring of personnel, annual performance appraisals as needed and evaluation and monitoring staff competency. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Two years' leadership experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License: Required in OR
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR, Preferred in CA and HI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required

Essential Functions:
  • Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient. Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered. Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Performs quality control functions related to mammography. Assists in compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
  • Evaluates and critiques images prior to radiologist interpretation.
  • Serves as technical leader on daily tasks and cases. Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills. Recommends and coordinates scheduling of work assignments, daily priorities and directing the work of staff. Provides input into hiring and promotion decisions for staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
