Working in Recreation is a vital role in helping individuals have the ability and access to attend interactive recreational activities that will lead to making many memories, friendships and community connections. Primary responsibilities include having fun with small group outings, adventures, working within home settings, and giving guidance to people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities throughout Genesee and Orleans Counties. AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
  • Full-time, Recreation Specialist.
    • Schedule Varies

Direct Support Professional RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • FUN, FUN, FUN
  • Enjoy interacting with others and bringing smiles to people's faces.
  • Working directly with individuals in the IRA's
  • Being involved with attending and scheduling outings in the surrounding area.
  • Assistance with contacting individuals, programs, and/or families regarding events.
  • Transports individuals to and from activities with an agency vehicle
  • Working with agency programs as a Special Olympics liaison.
  • Documenting all program data accurately and timely.

Direct Support Professional SKILLS:
  • Provides excellent customer service and acts as a role model to others.
  • Ability to effectively coach individuals to achieve success in the community and in group settings.
  • Possesses strong attention to detail, communication skills, and computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR Direct Support Professional:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
  • Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record
