Under the immediate supervision of the Radiologist and Medical Imaging Manager, is responsible for performing breast imaging procedures to include performance of breast examinations as well as ultrasound and stereotactic-guided biopsy procedures. Assist in the technical orientation of cross trained Radiologic Technologist and instruct them in complex procedures. Maintain a second Mammography registry as required by federally mandated MQSA standards.

This is a per diem position

Responsibilities

Mammography

1 Perform routine and complex breast imaging and examination procedures following departmental guidelines

2 Perform required quality assurance procedures at the designated intervals as appropriate

3 Instruct patients in breast self examinations as required

4 Maintain a second Mammography registry with the ARRT by annually accruing required ECE's specific to Mammography education

Bone Density

1 Performs Bone Density exams per Protocol

2 Helps patient on and off of the table

3 Merges prior exams with current exam

PACS

1 Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse

2 Scan Documents in a timely manner

3 Trouble shoot as needed

4 Push images to other Hospitals

5 Burn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completed

HIS/RIS

1 Ensures timely reporting of exams

2 Charges exams correctly

3 Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders

4 Confirms patient identity with two identifiers

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology

Experience: 1 year of X-Ray Experience required. Clinical Rotations will be considered

Licenses/Certifications:

1: Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy

2: ARRT, RT (R)(M) required

3: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
