Job Details:

The Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking a Psychiatrist to perform full-time in a clinical practice at one of the Mercer Medicine rural clinic locations in Putnam County, Eatonton, Georgia.

This position is expected to maintain a financially viable clinical practice at a Mercer Medicine rural clinic. This is a 12-month faculty position that will report to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director for the Physician Practice Plan.

Clinical Duties:

* Develop and maintain faculty psychiatry practice;


* Provide psychiatric consultations for patients as requested by community physicians;


* Actively participate in medical staff and affiliate hospital committees;


* Supervise NP or PA as required


* Complete all medical record documentation requirements as specified in the medical staff rules and regulations on a concurrent basis;


* Participate in emergency center call schedule as required.



Qualifications:

Applicants must have completed an approved general psychiatry residency, be board eligible/certified in general psychiatry and eligible to obtain a Georgia medical license. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The ideal candidate will:

* be licensed or license eligible in the state of Georgia


* have considerable clinical experience with a variety of client populations


* have familiarity and/or experience with medical settings and culture
