HVAC Equipment Installation Technician with Gas Qualification

Qualified Gas Operator/Equipment Installation Technician: Ensures the proper operation and performance of customers' heating/air conditioning and/or refrigerant systems in a residential environment. Identify, repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment

and systems; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; and ensuring adequate materials are available and on-hand to perform all necessary services. The duties of this position will include qualifying gas work as well as typical install work.

This role will include a $5,000 sign on bonus, and have an hourly range of $25.50 - $39.14/hr. See full benefits section below.

Responsibilities:

* Coordinates with Dispatch and management team to ensure work orders are accurately received and attended to in a timely manner based upon established goals and service standards.
* Diagnoses malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/systems and/or components in residential HVAC units for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
* Performs interior gas piping and maintenance activities, including inspections.
* Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and related equipment and/or components (e.g., unit heaters, pumps, safety controls, valves, etc.) with the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment.
* Manages repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
* Achieves all first-time fixes, productivity, customer service and other performance goals in a consistent manner.
* Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g., air conditioning systems, heating units such as: steam boilers, forced air, and hot air systems.) for the purpose of providing renovation and preventive maintenance of heating/air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
* Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g. torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating condition.
* Manages and maintains appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and equipment on an ongoing basis.
* Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
* Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
* Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
* Must be able to work independently and have good customer communication skills.
* These duties are not meant to be all inclusive but represent the typical type of work performed by this position. The Company reserves the right to add to, modify, or delete the duties and responsibilities shown as it deems appropriate.

Qualifications:

* Must pass a pre-enrollment drug test (Federal), as well as random and reasonable suspicion drug tests administered by a third-party vendor.
* Obtain Operator Qualification in Covered Task 86 (Inspections) and Covered Task 87 (Maintenance/Repairs) by attending a course and receiving a passing grade on the course exam. Maintain such certification by participating in refresher training every 36 months and receive a passing grade on the course exam.
* General knowledge of electrical wiring of Furnaces, Boilers and Air-Conditioning systems.
* Ability to fabricate miscellaneous sheet-metal transitions.
* Ability to remove Domestic Hot Water Heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers with minimal damage.
* Ability to perform a complete installation of Domestic Hot Water Heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers.
* Ability to perform part replacement installations.
* Ability to install/repair gas piping, water piping, near boiler piping and the sweating of copper piping.
* General knowledge and understanding on the sequence of operation regarding Domestic Hot Water heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers to perform routine maintenance.
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
