SCHOOL BASED SUPPORT SPECIALISTS

SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI & SURROUNDING AREA SCHOOLS

* Positions across various school districts in Southwest Missouri - Springfield, Republic, Willard, Marshfield, Fair Grove, Ash Grove, Walnut Grove* (subject to availability)

* Key Responsibilities*
* Intervention and Collaboration: Provide on-site intervention in area schools for clients enrolled in the program, collaborating closely with school staff to ensure appropriate client care and support.
* Progress Monitoring: Participate in the process of monitoring client progress in treatment programs, tracking successes and challenges to inform future treatment plans and strategies.
* Individualized Treatment Plans: Develop tailored treatment plans for each client, taking into account unique needs, goals, and circumstances to promote optimal recovery and well-being.
* Client Support and Advocacy: Serve as a trusted resource for clients, providing individualized assistance in accessing necessary mental health services and completing daily living tasks, while advocating for their best interests.
* Community Engagement: Connect clients with various community agencies and resources, offering ongoing social, vocational, educational, and recreational support and activities to foster personal growth and independence.

* Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields of study:

Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling

* Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree from an approved institution

* Work experience in a related human services field may substitute for educational requirements. *Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more. Four years of qualifying experience minimum or a combination of education and experience equaling four years required.
